Look inside the holesmoray eels, octopus and lobster spend the day hidden. Use your dive light without pointing it straight into the animal's eye.
Look up now and thenturtles, rays and schools pass overhead and we miss them because we only look at the bottom.
Watch out for what looks like a rockfrogfish and scorpionfish are masters of camouflage. Before you rest your hand, look twice.
Seahorses cling to brancheslook for them on sea fans, algae and ropes. They are small and stay still.
Don't touch, don't chaseif you approach slowly and at an angle, the animal won't flee. Chasing only makes it disappear.
Make a mental note of the placeif you saw a seahorse or octopus, memorize the landmark. Tell the instructor so the next buddy pair can see it.
